Jailbreakme Tutorial

What you need:

  • iDevice: iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch 3G, iPod touch 4G
  • iOS 4.3.3 (either already installed on your iDevice, or downloaded via iTunes on your computer and about to be installed)
  • Active Internet connection
  • Computer (just in case you need to upgrade your iOS device to iOS 4.3.3 first)

Here are the steps you need to follow to jailbreak any of the iDevices mentioned above:

1) Make sure you have iOS 4.3.3 installed on your device (Go to Settings > General > About > Version to verify it). In case you don’t have it installed then you’ll have to update to iOS 4.3.3 inside iTunes.

2) Make sure you have an active Internet connection, either via 3G or better or via Wi-Fi which will be required to complete the jailbreak.

3) Start Safari and go to JailbreakMe.com:

4) Press “Free” (in the screenshot above) and then press “Install”:

5) The iPhone jailbreak processing starts and you should see Cydia Icon below which it displays a progress bar.

6) After the complete of process, tap on Cydia Icon and you’re ready to use jailbroken iDevice.
